Features & specifications

Fiberon PPS-GF20 Filament – Gray, 0.5 kg

Fiberon PPS-GF20 from Polymaker is a 1.75 mm polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) filament reinforced with 20% glass fiber. It is engineered for parts that must survive extreme heat, chemical exposure, and electrical loads, combining high stiffness and dimensional stability with electrical insulation and UL94 V-0 flame retardance at 1.5 mm. This listing is for a 0.5 kg spool in gray.

Built for Demanding Applications

PPS-GF20 suits engineers and advanced makers producing electrical housings, sensor enclosures, antenna mounts, brackets, jigs, fixtures, and under-hood or factory-floor components. Unlike conductive carbon-fiber composites such as PPS-CF10, the glass fiber keeps PPS-GF20 electrically insulating, with a dielectric strength of 6.05 kV/mm and a low dielectric constant of 2.71 at 1 MHz. It also resists acids, bases, oils, and solvents.

Key Features

  • 20% glass fiber–reinforced PPS for high strength and stiffness
  • Heat deflection temperature of 236.3 °C at 0.45 MPa after annealing
  • UL94 V-0 flame retardant at 1.5 mm
  • Electrically insulating with strong dielectric performance
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Low moisture absorption of 0.11% (70% RH, 23 °C)
  • Compatible with Bambu Lab AMS systems
  • Vacuum-sealed and neatly wound on a rubber-edged recycled cardboard spool

Printing Requirements

PPS-GF20 requires an all-metal hotend capable of 310 °C or higher and a 0.4 mm or larger hardened steel or ruby nozzle, since the glass fiber is abrasive. An enclosure is not required, and the chamber can stay at room temperature. Keep the filament path free of tight bends, as the stiff filament can snap. PolySupport for PA12 is the recommended support material.

  • Nozzle temperature: 310–350 °C
  • Bed temperature: 80–90 °C
  • Cooling fan: off
  • Print speed: up to 250 mm/s
  • Drying: 100 °C for 10 hours, if the filament has absorbed moisture
  • Annealing: 130 °C for 10 hours for full thermal and mechanical performance

Mechanical Properties (XY)

  • Tensile strength: 64.1 MPa
  • Bending strength: 102.3 MPa
  • Young's modulus: 4552 MPa
  • Density: 1.36 g/cm³
