Using UltiMaker cleaning filament is the most effective way to unclog and keep print cores and nozzles in optimal condition.
The Ultimaker cleaning filament is used for both print core maintenance and unclogging procedures. We recommend performing regular maintenance once every three months for the AA and BB Print Cores. Unclog the print core if there is no material extruding from the nozzle for at least ten minutes.
For the CC .6 and CC .4, preventative cleaning is recommended at least once a month, or every 100-150 print hours, due to the fibrous nature of composite materials.
This filament can be used to clean the Print Core on the S-Line and UltiMaker 3 series machines, and on the Ultimaker 2 series nozzles by applying hot and cold pulls. Hot pulls are used to get the biggest parts of carbonized material out of the print core and are highly recommended when the print core is clogged. With a cold pull, the remaining small particles will be removed, ensuring the print core is completely clean.
